What's New

01.01.07 For me, the first step in writing a story is the story idea. I'm constantly on the lookout for possible ideas to write about. Read here about where I get my story ideas.

Coming Soon The next step is checking to see if my story idea passes the story test.

10.01.06 I've completed a fantasy romance novella titled Worthy. I've also started work on a new novel. This will be a departure from my usual paranormal fantasy stories. My next story could be labeled a multicultural paranormal romance. And with the help of my critique partners, the story might even have some humorous elements.

I've also updated My Links website with more writer's resources.

8.1.05 I'm back from Romance Writers of America's (RWA) 25th Annual National Conference. Now it is time to get back to writing and preparing for next year's conference. To read about my conference experiences and my plans for the next year, go to my Writing Journal. I also posted a few pictures from the conference.

7.25.05 I'm off to Reno, CA where Romance Writers of America (RWA) is holding their annual conference. It is a time to learn more about the craft of writing and the business of getting and being published. It is also a time to meet with other writers, and to pitch your story to editors and agents. The conference lasts until Saturday night. Check back for more what happened at this year's conference and how to prepare for next year's conference.

7.24.05 Ever wondered what to do after you finished a book, sent it off to an editor and received a rejection letter? Read about next steps in my article Working to be PRO. It is a checklist on changing from a writer to a professional writer.

7.17.05 MadelynBello.com is launched! It has taken time, planning, learning, networking, resources, and dreams to get here. To learn more, go to my Writing Journal.
